Phillip Hall
Artistic Director
Phillip Hall is a native of Roosevelt, New York. His parental, spiritual and educational nurturing has allowed him to utilize his musical gifts to impact thousands of students. Phillip’s teachers recognized his innate musical abilities and allowed him to accompany the school choral groups for six years. Phillip saw the power of music to transform lives and aspired to pursue a teaching career.
Most of Phillip’s teaching career was spent at Houston’s Worthing High School. He facilitated the school’s participation in the Bravo Project, which afforded students the opportunity to attend opera performances for free. Several of his students have ascended to successful musical careers. After eleven years in the classroom, Phillip left to join a new non-profit organization (Music Doing Good) as a piano accompanist for several area schools.
Phillip has performed with Aretha Franklin, Delfeayo Marsalis and for Presidents George H.W. Bush and William J. Clinton. He’s served as musical director for Ain’t Misbehavin’ on nine occasions! He traveled to South Africa to accompany a choir assembled to commemorate Nelson Mandela’s ninetieth birthday. He is entering his twentieth year as a staff musician at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church in Houston. For the past two years, he has served as artistic director and accompanist for the eponymously named Phillip Hall Singers
